Netflix claims to be a supporter of the LGBTQ+ but profits from films like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. The depiction of trans women in this film is a violent portrayal of the community that encourages assault. Companies shouldn't be allowed to cherry pick their support. You either stand with us, or against us. No more middle ground, no more performative allies. We demand the film be taken down.
Netflix is staying silent while they continue to profit from this transphobic garbage. Their refusal to acknowledge the harm caused by this film proves they only care about their bottom line instead of the community they claim to support.

As a trans individual, who was also raised to berate and harm the concept of my own identity by my biological family... this is important. These things hurt us. I can still remember my bio-dr watching this series of movies over and over, laughing and calling the trans & gay characters in the film made out to ~freaks~, "f*gg*ts", and promote literally lighting us on fire. Stand with us ! In Solidarity !

I love Jim Carrey. Unfortunately, I feel it's nessary to take this film out of circulation as it paints trans individuals as dangerous sexual predators. Anything that feeds into that narrative of hate should not be on netflix.

There is so much wrong with the film and it's portrayal of trans woman. We are made to be the blunt of the joke, and where the idea that we are traps and disgusting is used to promote violence against us.

Please remove this transphobic movie from your library. It doesn't belong there if you really give a crap about your trans viewers. Thanx

Hugely transphobic and damaging. It’s an easy fix Netflix - TAKE IT DOWN!
