To City of Stamford, please reduce our Property Taxes!

Hard to live here ....I don't know anything else, but Stamford. Third generation here, too old to move.

Property taxes were already excessively high in Stamford prior to the pandemic. Most of us have taken a significant hit financially due to the shutdown and many are struggling. Taxes must be reduced.

I moved here 4 years ago after 15 years in Greenwich and my property tax has increased three times and over $3K. It will definitely hurt the value of my home. Taxes are worse here than in Greenwich which offered more services.

Stamford is a great place to live but the balance between services received and taxes paid is out of alignment. Lowering taxes, tightening expenses, increasing service (roads, police presence, etc) will keep Stamford a great place to live.

We don’t get garbage pick up, we have volunteer fire service and we don’t have sewers.

City services are being reduced at a time of everyone having to reduce their spending. The city must act responsibly as well and reduce waste and the tax burden as well. Thank you.

As a recent retiree, I have more flexibility with living locations and have seen how unusually high Stamford property taxes are relative to not only the broader nation, but also the region. Please reduce our taxes or at least stop the increases. Although I would like to stay in the area, if the city and state continue to increase taxes, I will have to move to an equally nice, lower tax location.
