The price of this into high for Kirkwood. The increased traffic on Argonne and Adams will be awful and with more development of restaurants in downtown, the area will continue to be clogged with even more traffic. St. Peter has plenty of space to expand into its lot on Adam’s. There is absolutely no reason to change downtown Kirkwood forever for a few parking spaces.

Parking is urban cancer. Kirkwood is agreeing to amputate itself in order to get cancer.
If we're that desperate to improve pedestrian safety on Jefferson, close the street to cars (maybe with gates that can be opened if needed e.g. due to adjacent street closures).

Our street grid is what makes Kirkwood unique and walkable. We need to push for pedestrian safety in Downtown instead of gifting land to tax exempt entities. The only people who will benefit from this are the parishioners which are a small subset of our population. The streets and sidewalk are a widely accessible public good and we should not let Kirkwood unload them without opposition.

My family and I are proud to be Catholic and STP parishioners, and we are relying heavily on our Catholic faith to guide us through this challenge.

This is a horrible idea. What city utilities are affected , emergency vehicles on a dead rad street , people cutting through those yards … greed on behalf of the catholic church

This will be bad for everyone. The church should not be allowed to proceed. Cutting off W. Jefferson is wrong. This is not an off the grid street it is a main artery in downtown Kirkwood.

We are greatly impacted by this plan as we are second house in from this proposal. We have lived here 39 years. We strongly disagree with this as mentioned already by many caring people. Enough is enough. We stand firmly with our neighbors and appreciate all who support us. Thank you

This is just not right. Not only to the nearby neighbors but also for the well being of any Kirkwoodians who’s lives & homes could be threatened by closing off a major cross street in downtown Kirkwood. This whole proposal should be voted on not merely approved by our mayor & city council & a priest!
