  • St Peter announced their plan this week to expand. As part of their plan, W Jefferson Ave at Clay would be closed off. This is not new news and has been struck down before by citizens of this wonderful town. However, the new issue is that they plan to build the expansion of the school over the road. I live next door to the school. If this happens not only will one of our city streets be closed off but there will be a building spanning across it. St Peter already has an agreement with Kirkwood. They will cede them land for parking spaces and Kirkwood will give them my street and your access. Please read the City's plan for 2035. They have big plans and the little guy might not matter. You might be next to have your livehoods affected under the guise of positive change! If you live in Kirkwood, please sign this petition to stop this. St Peter already has a petition of their own to get this approved.

We are greatly impacted by this plan as we are second house in from this proposal. We have lived here 39 years. We strongly disagree with this as mentioned already by many caring people. Enough is enough. We stand firmly with our neighbors and appreciate all who support us. Thank you

St. Peter's is a wonderful school and church, but this is a flawed approach for expansion and not for the benefit of the Kirkwood community as a whole.

The disruption of the downtown street grid for a few surface parking spaces is a poor trade. St Peters has functioned on this grid for 150+ years they need to work with what they have and not take public right of way. Residents deserve better.

How can you take our street away? MO. This is an abomination ! I am a St Peter’s person but this is horrible. If they need more llland - go up! Not land grab. Or purchase houses adjacent to school/church. Not this!!!

This was already voted down hy residents, why is it coming up again?? Increased traffic and confusion on Clay to go around the xlosure impacting the flow of cars. Ridiculous its even being considered again!

The price of this into high for Kirkwood. The increased traffic on Argonne and Adams will be awful and with more development of restaurants in downtown, the area will continue to be clogged with even more traffic. St. Peter has plenty of space to expand into its lot on Adam’s. There is absolutely no reason to change downtown Kirkwood forever for a few parking spaces.

I don’t understand how this helps Kirkwood. Do we get tax revenue from the church? I am totally against this permanently changing the streets of Kirkwood.

I am against giving this land to St. Peters in exchange for more parking spaces! Kirkwood needs to quit spending millions of dollars on parking spaces! Why should Kirkwood taxpayers have to pay half of the maintenance of St. Peter's parking lot? Why are we giving up a public street? This is another stupid idea that seeks to spend taxpayer money frivolously. My taxes are high enough already!
