This redevelopment is essential for our community to congregate safely. More parking is needed. Disability access is imperative for the safety of senior parishioners. A larger church is vital.

As a member of the Maronite Catholic community, I support the redevelopment of the St Maroun’s Church in Greenslopes as proposed. The existing church premises including the 4 character homes that improve the land are in a state of disrepair and it will be a major improvement for the local neighbourhood to see these dwellings rejuvenated. The design of the church and church hall are to be commended and are likely to become a new local landmark for the Greenslopes community. The inclusion of a 51 car space on-site basement is a welcome addition for the church who at present has no on-site parking at all. This is a significant improvement to the existing situation.

My kids have lots of fun during the family mass. The church is quiet small for the amount of people who attend. As well it’s very old. I hope this goes through.

The church helps the new generation grow strong and gives support to when needed. The current church is too small and doesn’t fit the amount of people who attend the masses. The church needs a new hall for the many celebrations that take place there. Our elders and our youngsters meet there and it makes life so much more valuable to see all generations on a weekly basis meet and enjoy each other’s companies.

Our church needs this rebuild! It has barely had any upgrades in the 30+ years that it’s been housing us. Our congregation has grown and there’s not enough room for us all. Parking is ridiculous and dangerous at present, and the surrounding streets and neighbours really feel the burden of the parishioners parking for mass and functions. Onsite parking will ease this burden on the neighbours massively. Disability access, parents’ room, childcare, better catering facilities for our functions, and a larger, more inclusive space for the parishioners to worship together are just some of the key reasons this redevelopment is so vital. Additionally, the plans for the church are fresh, appealing, classic and in keeping with the Greenslopes area and surrounding suburbs. I personally live in this area and know that the improvement of this church will only improve the area. I fully support this redevelopment.

Have gone to this church my entire life and it is one of the pillars in my community. This expansion will greatly benefit all of us, and make the roads safer for locals who have to deal with hundreds of cars filling the streets on holidays and dozens on Sunday mass. Finally enough room for us to all fit inside the church. I think it’s amazing.

We need a bigger church and a car park to accommodate the parishioners & to encourage potential new comers.
