The current Church is dated and does not provide the necessary facilities for the aged, mothers and people with special needs.

· I support the redevelopment of the St Maroun’s Church in Greenslopes (A005412755) as proposed.
· The Maronite church and parishioners have been a part of Brisbane since the 1890’s and the Greenslopes community since 1985. The church at Greenslopes currently services the growing community.
· The existing church premises including the four character homes on the land are in a state of disrepair and it will be a major improvement for the local neighbourhood to see these dwellings rejuvenated.
· All parishioners are now able to be seated inside, instead of the need for outside amplified speakers serving parishioners that have overflowed outside and onto the footpath.
· The design of the church and church hall are to be commended and are likely to become a new local landmark for the Greenslopes community whose doors are open to all.
· The inclusion of a 51 car space on-site basement is a welcome addition for the church who at present has no on-site parking at all. This is a significant improvement to the existing situation as during Easter, Christmas and other events the footpaths are usually congested with parked cars across many streets.
· The inclusion of an off-street loading area for funeral hearse etc rather then spilling out onto the street is a safety improvement for the neighbourhood.
· We have a right to celebrate our culture and continue to contribute to the community at large as we always have. Many of the parishioners and community
