The quality of learning is much stronger when the kids are in school. And when you take away the fun parts of being in school and the ability to see friends throughout the day, it’s just not as motivating or fun. It’s sad for these kids.

The blanket all or nothing approach to dealing with Covid and in person is baseless and not rooted in science. There are 2 major issues. 1. The data is flawed that is being utilized to determine our rates. 2. It is negligent to not look at age cohorts and their transmission, mortality data and the science surrounding their actual threats to spread of Covid 19.

We need Rockwood to send kids back to school 5 days per week. The harm it is doing to outlet children far outweighs any risk.

Teachers are working more than twice as hard as they normally do, while most kids are getting only a fraction of the education they normally would. It’s unfair to continue to ask this of teachers when the data makes the case that the majority of kids and teachers are in little danger of hospitalization, death, or other devastating results from Covid. This applies to all levels of public and private education.

The schools need to be reopened for all of our kids. It is their right to get a quality education and this right is presently being usurped by overzealous political leaders in STL County, County Executive Sam Page and the STL County Health Dept.

Look at new data from CDC. Only 6% of deaths have been from COVID alone. We have got to get our kids back into school. Mental health matters!

The children need the social aspect of school. Also, it is too much to ask a little one to sit in front of a computer every day. Private schools in the area are successful and Rockwood can be, too! I feel we should have the option!

Open the schools and get the health department out of the private and Christian schools! They are bullying and punishing us for opening.
