I think it’s important for our kids mental health to be back in schools. There are a lot of schools back in person without a problem. We need to start living and not living in fear. The statistic/data of this virus are not supporting us keeping our kids out of school!

Please, please start the process to open our schools within the next 1-3 weeks. Rockwood is our district and we watched with how efficiently they built the Alternative Learning Plan last spring within one week, and Rockwood already had a hybrid plan ready two weeks before this year’s start of school. So it would appear that Rockwood should be able to act more quickly and set start dates for the multiple age groups. My pediatrician told me two weeks ago that the STL County Executive and local county government is not following the CDC guidelines nor are they following the advice of the local infectious disease experts on safety reopening schools. My two older boys in 3rd and 6th grade are missing precious hours and days of full emotional, intellectual, and social growth opportunities.

All I can say is that online learning is really damaging to my kids (both 3rd grade) and is stressful and expensive for working parents. We are looking at other school options if there’s no in person learning after 1st quarter.

We’ve been doing school at home since spring break of last year and I know that my kids are not getting everything they were supposed to out of school.

We should be able to open with all the necessary precautions to keep our kids safe. If other schools can do it safely - why can’t Parkway?

Kids need to learn at school. They need the interaction with other kids.

We need our kids to have the option to return to school for in-person instruction ASAP, as this "distance learning" is a joke; it's just taxpayer funded remote babysitting as far as I'm concerned. I'm sick of all the politics. Just open the schools already!!!!!

Children need to be in school for their mental well being. They are very unlikely to get sick from Covid or transmit serious illness to their families or teacher.
