I am afraid to enjoy our downtown with my kids or alone because of the aggressiveness and debauchery of the panhandlers there. Please do something to stop this!

It's sick that the city hasn't taken a tougher hand on this. This is not fair to the tax payers of the community. Not too mention, the city looks bad and can lose revenue from tourists who don't want to see this when visiting what is supposed to be a historic and beautiful city. Get your act together and get this done!

I do not think they should be in the streets of St Augustine. Especially downtown where all the tourists are.

I was completely disgusted and shocked the last time my family and I were downtown (about 4 weeks ago). I won't go again until the city wakes up and cleans up historic downtown before it's too late. I will not recommend friends or out of town guests go either. As a lifelong resident and fourth generation Floridian, I am really appalled that things have gotten this bad in beautiful St. Augustine.

I support more police presence downtown. On foot, on bicycle, on horse - any or all.

i was at nights of lites and things with the homeless were not that bad until just after christmas when i was at walmart and had a few homeless people come up to me from all sides and tried to corner me in the parking lot . i had yelled at them . with got people looking. and all they kept asking for was money . i told them yelling to leave. and i did have my phone out . i yelled very loud. and that was when then left but i didn't see where they went all i wanted to do was get my things in the car and leave. so sad it was only 1pm

I have lived here 6 years now and its amazing how Old Town is so overrun by panhandlers. I no longer take visitors into this area nor do my wife and I frequent restaurants like we once did. It is a shame that the City has allowed Old Town's demise.

I work on St. George Street and the panhandling is getting worse by the day. Hope this helps.
