Dear Archbishop Comensoli,
We, the people of St. Andrew’s Werribee, humbly request that Fr Anil Mascarenhas continue in his role as our Assistant Priest in our parish. Due to the effects of COVID 19, almost a year of his priestly ministry in Werribee has been impacted.
For the past three years, we have been blessed to have Fr Anil as our Assistant Priest. From the moment he arrived at his very first Parish, Fr Anil has worked tirelessly to build up the community of believers, by his connectedness and humility. His solid and faithful witness to Christ and proclamation of the Kingdom of God has been paramount to his mission. He never tires from proactively evangelising and building up the community of faith. Fr Anil has joyfully, consistently and enthusiastically stood firm in encouraging the faithful, especially the young people to have Christ first in their lives. He has called the young people to a faithful relationship with Jesus and has put into place opportunities for the young to participate in the faith life of the Church and grow their personal holiness.
We understand that he has already completed three years in Werribee, however, we feel his strong pastoral leadership and guidance is still needed to strengthen our young people. With more time, Fr Anil will have the opportunity to build up young leaders in our parish, who would then, with God’s help, lead their peers. With solid formation, clear vision and parental support, the young people can take up the leadership roles and responsibilities in St. Andrew’s Youth Group. We pray that our youth will bless, not only our community, but the whole Church.
We sincerely thank you for considering our request. As you are aware, our young people are the future of the Church. In a world increasingly hostile to the faith, we as a Parish are confident that under Fr Anil’s guidance, through the power of the Holy Spirit, St Andrew’s Youth are receiving quality faith formation.

Fr Anil has been so good to my husband me this year My husband is on oxygen 24/7 and I’ve really appreciated the support from our Priests God Bless Therese
We request Fr. Anil to get extension to stay on our parish, not only because he has taken lot of initiative for youth which is work in progress and would require time to complete, but also we would require priest like Fr Anil for our parish to grow druing this times, specially when we will be one day hopefully will come out of lockdown.
Fr. Anil brings life to St. Andrew's Parish. He is very enthusiastic about role in the parish. He is an inspiration to the youth of St. Andrews. We need someone younger, like Fr. Anil who can relate with younger generations in our parish of St. Andrew's. Hope you will let him stay. Thanks
Father Anil since the pandemic has started has been keeping the parishioners United with daily rosary on zoom where more than 50 family’s gather together.
I would also like to add that St Andrews Werribee has had a LOT of priest changes in the last few years, and would like to wait to see any new priest coming in at a time when they can meet with parishioners in person to build relationships
Fr. Anil is the best Youth Pastor we've had at St Andrews Parish. Please let him stay here in Werribee. Our Youth need him.
Dear Bishop, Fr. Anil has helped some of our Tepid children to become fervent. My own son is now able to say Catholic prayers and especially The Rosary and serving as Altar boy which he refused initially to do. I do not know how Fr. Anil does it , but it is wonderful to see our youths moving from tepidity to ferventness and towards perfection. We are grateful to him and are hoping he stays longer and perfect his art by the grace of God. But God’s will be done through our dear Bishop Peter. Praise and glory to our Lord Jesus. Thanks. Fr Anil is a wonderful spiritual leader in our parish, particularly in his work with our young people. This pastoral work is incomplete, having suffered major disruption due to COVID-19, and we would be devastated to lose Fr Anil before his vision for our parish is fulfilled.
