Its been in the talks that the government is planning on cutting the social security checks by august 3rd. While they go one to say its the debt ceiling this will effect countless numbers of American citizens many who are on disability and can no longer work, are veterans from our armed forces, retirement for elderly individuals no longer capable of working. August 2 2011 if nothing changes by this date there will be no checks sent out to the millions who NEED them by August 3rd. This severely will impact our nation, elderly and disabled individuals will be without income. Veterans will not receive what is due to them for service to the defense of our country. There is no telling how large of an impact this will have, but I know many Americans know someone close to them who is on disability, or social security that will no longer have the money to support themselves. This needs to stop, it has gone to far. If this happens it may as well be a death sentence to the thousands who have no one to care for them, whose families do not make enough to support them.
