As a former parent that had three daughters graduate from SRCS, I am appalled by the way the church pastors and administrators , mainly Mike Vietz has treated the school and headmaster Jason Zecca. He is a man of great integrity and Christian values and it has been an asset to the school. The church administration is so out of touch with the school that for them to make this quick decision is totally wrong. Where is the kindness, love, and non-condemning leadership of the church that we once had. I too am reconsidering my membership of this church that I've been at for 32 years.

This whole situation showed very UN-Christlike behavior by the pastor and elders. Very disappointing to have this outcome, and will no longer attend the church or support the school moving forward.

Mr. Zecca has been nothing less than amazing during our 9 years at the school and church. I’m stunned at this recent news and at the very least, would like to know respectfully only which I’m permitted to know. Thank you and God bless.

Mr and Mrs Zecca are the best part of SRCS. His leadership is the best we have ever experienced at a school and the children love them both very much. We are worried about the potential changes in vision for the school. We ask for more transparency and to save the Zeccas rather than bring in someone new.

I hope the church acknowledges that the manner this was handled is why the parents are so upset. A decision this big requires better communication.

This decision does not simply represent a leadership change—it represents a breach of trust with the very families who sustain this school. As parents, we are not passive observers; we are committed stakeholders who have invested financially, spiritually, and relationally into this community. Decisions of this magnitude, made without transparency, explanation, or inclusion, erode confidence not only in the school’s leadership structure but in the integrity of its governance.

We were shocked and disappointed to learn that Mr Zecca's Contract was not being renewed for the upcoming school year. Please reconsider and keep him on as SRCS's Headmaster.

I am the grandfather of Austin Gatt, a second grader at Spanish River. His sister, Aubrey, plans to join him at the school next year. Austin and his family truly love Spanish River and are deeply grateful for the welcoming and supportive environment the school provides.
Austin has learned many things at Spanish River, but most importantly, he has developed a strong love of God. A powerful example of this occurred on Good Friday, when he set his alarm for 3:00 p.m. When the time arrived, he went into his backyard, dropped to his knees, and prayed. This moment speaks volumes about the values being instilled in him. For this reason, I respectfully ask that you reconsider your decision regarding the headmaster, given the profound role he has played in fostering faith and character in his students.

We fully support the current parents in this regard. Such change can and will have a negative impact on students and parents alike.
