You do realize that this was a public contest so the public could choose the name? The public just had NO say in the final decision and last I knew mantis wasn't the top name. I think by allowing the public to be involved initially, they should have kept us involved when it came to the final decision... It was conducted poorly along with this dumb name.

Merle, that company depends on the local community to thrive their Entity (this case the soccer team). The community (at lease those who sign) are voicing they don't like this name. I fail to see their Idiocrasy in that. This is no bash on the city, nor MKE. Also, it appears a lot of these signatures so far are our current soccer community. We may want to hear them out. They will be more likely the ones buying tickets over and over.

I enjoy soccer and I love that soccer has a history and it has roots. I do not feel we are taking the sport seriously with the name mantis. I feel the name and logo makes the team sound cheap. I do not believe this should be the name of Kokomo's soccer team.

Mantis sucks!! How about the "Bennies" for Old Ben that gets no attention anymore, even though HE IS a Kokomo icon and the Mantis is an unwanted bug that no one cares about!!!
