Please keep start times for high school as they are now. A later dusmisssl time creates problems with after school activities running too far into the evening. Thank you.

I don't have time to do anything other than work when I get home from school as it is. If start times are pushed back, I'll have to stay up later.

I fully recognize the attempt to give students more sleep but this schedule change does far more harm than good. This change cuts into students studying, extracurricular, social and athletic time which are all things that are very important to academic success and student well being. It's my opinion that Seattle schools does not do a very good job at listening to there students and making changes based on there imput, this is there chance to do better.

As someone who does 3 different sports, this would negatively impact my time for extracurricular activities and amount of time I have to study

This is really bad for athletes and as someone who does track and cross country this would negatively impact schedule

The time change from this was great, so why change a good thing?

I know the purpose is partially to help students get more sleep but it's not going to make a difference because people will be doing their homework and extra cirrivulars even later so it really doesn't make sense

Seriously the amount of homework we have already eats in to our ability to work and do extracurricular activities. Adding that much school would only reduce our time to be able to enjoy ourselves.

Great way to kill whatever free time your students still have SPS. Really, well done.

The students well being and holstic school experience should be the criteria in which to make decisions about start times. They should not get the short end of poor budgeting or lack of planning by adults who are hired to serve a specific role at the district.

We, as students, cannot afford this time cut. I can see this is an effort to give teenagers more time to sleep, but this will be taken full advantage of, and nothing will really change to help students. People will still come to school late, they will still show indifference to school, and the students who care will still work their buns off. Students who care, such as myself, will find it much more difficult to find time to study and finish assignments if school start time is pushed back.
High schoolers also deserve to have time to spend with friends and having fun. We NEED those stress relievers. We need time for that! We are constantly running on a shortage of time, and THIS is not healthy. If a stident manages their time wisely they will get all of their school work done, with time to spend on themselves. With the new time, it may be that students only have time for their school work. This is not considering including extracurricular activities.
If students are constantly running out of time, why cut out more?

As an athlete and band kid, this would be detrimental towards getting my homework done on time. Instead of allowing us to get more sleep, this would severely cut down on the quantity of sleep we get each night.

For high school athletic students, this would dramatically affect practice and game times. We would have to leave school early more taking away our academic time. We also wouldn't be home until super late giving us no time to keep up on homework unless we stay up way later.

I value the time I have after school to go out, study, do sports and other extra curriculars without being out too late or when its too dark!!

As it is extracurricular activities are late in the day. There were days were I didn't leave school until 8:00 after track and fiddle. My friends in tech stay until 11:00. That's ridiculous and pushing it back even later for the sake of sleep isn't going to help students feel rested.

This is particularly significant for people with after school activities and it just seems more reasonable if there has to be a change, to move school earlier if necessary. But I don't think it's right to make this kind of change.
