Springfield College: Reduce PEAC Requirement!
The PEAC requirement for varsity sport athletes should be reduced. PEAC's are a distraction in our already chaotic student-athlete schedules, Interfere with course load due to time constraints, and are inherently a waste of our tuition dollars.
Although tradition is an important aspect of being a student at springfield College, the PEAC tradition should not be enforced on student-athletes that are already involved in rigorous exercise and sport instruction. Along with practices, competitions, and required courses, there is no time in a student-athlete's schedule to balance half credit classes that take as much time out of the day as a three credit lecture class.
To allow the PEAC requirement to remain in place (as it stands now) for varsity athletes would express this institution's indifference toward the success of all athletic programs on campus, and failure to recognize the commitment to sport that all student-athletes have made.
Student-athletes, I ask that you sign this online petition in order to help this necessary change be taken more seriously.
