Having class all day makes studying for boards impossible. We are just trying to pass and stay sane but this schedule is setting us up to fail.

Saying, "this is the way we've always done it", is a poor way to run a business, and an even poorer way to operate a school. Times change, adapt and understand that.

The current schedule can easily be improved to accommodate greater board preparation. From reevaluating the efficacy of TBLs to the method material is presented from smaller credit courses. We can work together to ensure phenomenal level 1 and 2 passing scores as an institution.

The spring semester before boards should be less demanding. After reviewing the schedule however, the exact opposite is true. How are students supposed to focus on the the one exam that so strongly influences their future careers when they are busy studying for the school's exams instead (which poorly reflect board style questions).

I want to more than barely pass boards and with this schedule I'm worried I'll be so burnt out by the time we get to our 'dedicated' study time that that's the only thing I'll be capable to do. Also, bring Wolfpacc, other DO schools pay for their students to have it, we deserve it to since we pay a fee for SIM lab that we've never gotten to use.

After looking at multiple other schools calendars, I am concerned about my own and my fellow classmates ability to do well in systems coursework and be able to put adequate time and effort into board studying in order to get the scores that we and the school would like us to achieve.

As I sat at home tonight, rocking my son to sleep, my thoughts came back to our Spring Semester. I was prepared to give up some of the little time I have to share with my family for boards preparation; however, the current schedule is telling me that I will essentially be forfeiting all of my time and resources in order to adequately prepare for boards while attempting to stay up to date with the ongoing curriculum-- and that's not even a guarantee that I will perform well in either one of those. We are already sacrificing so much and giving so much to stay on track and the schedule changes don't seem warranted. We already experienced a large loss in our class from students struggling in the fall semester and I can only imagine that those still struggling with experience further hardships throughout the spring, possibly resulting in them failing boards or having to re-mediate the year. I would just like clarification as to why there were such drastic changes in the schedule if the class of 2018 performed so well on boards? Surely you cannot expect us to continue that trend, given the workload throughout the semester and the diminished amount of time to prepare for boards. Our futures are in your hands and I think we deserve some kind of explanation for as to why the schedule was modified in such a manner. While comparing the spring semesters of other medical schools, both MD and DO, the majority have much more time dedicated to boards and much more support and structured board preparation throughout the semester. I'm simply at a loss for the changes. Is it due to current classes poor performance with the PE? If so, I would think the CORE sites need to be re-evaluated to ensure that they are adequately fine tuning the skills we learned via EPC. Our class shouldn't be punished for the shortcomings of another. If not, I would appreciate some type of explanation or thought process. We all want to be the best physician possible but this schedule doesn't seem to be doing
