The Minister of Justice of Canada has declared his intention to change theCanada Evidence Actso that spouses can be compelled to testify against one another. Surely this is a direct attack on the basic premise of marriage - the two become one. I can not be compelled to testify against myself and should not be compelled to testify against my spouse. .
