Sports East would provide a privately-funded, affordable athletic facility to residents of the North Fork. Among other amenities, the proposed complex would include indoor and outdoor athletic fields and courts, a swimming pool, weight room and exercise studios.

Perhaps counterintuitively, Sports East would have a substantially less significant impact on the environment than if residential homes were built in the same location. Further, approximately 75% of the site would be preserved.
