I am a UK based spoken word artist and I believe it is time to change the landscape for professional poets. This means I believe in: 1) Respect for our art form reflected in professional fees, terms and conditions when engaged to write and/or perform at all times. 2) A professional body or union for which that I am prepared to pay a subscription to represent our rights and interests

its about time! sick of being offered 'exposure' instead of actual money. artists need to eat too.

YES. Count me in. Far too many promoters think they can just exploit our work for free. We need an official union to actually set some standards.
