Finally someone is doing something about this. The mixing has ruined the lines for years and showing has just become a headache. Keep them separate before we lose the real UK type for good.

Hopefully with this petition we can persuade the powers that be that breeders are genuinely concerned about the way in which The shetland Sheepdog is evolving through mixing two different types. I know the ESSC has tried to get this accepted in the past but it has fallen on "deaf ears" Hopefully this way will impress them to act.

All for this, As we have UK type Shelties and USA type Shelties, we hope we can maintain both types As they're both unique and different in their own way!

This is long overdue. When this was first discussed last century, the foresight for both breeds should have been taken into consideration. While respect is given to the American Shetland Sheepdog breeders in maintaining their ideal type to their Standard, what can be said of the English Shetland Sheepdog and its type. American bloodlines mixed with the English bloodlines. Please it's time to have 'Two Standards, Two Types'.

I have a KC standard bitch 14" that I also show in America. It has become impossible to show her there. She is considered petite! There are American breeders that also bemoan this trend, but they are outnumbered and ostracized. There is an American cocker, so why not establish the American sheltie?

It's a very long time I wait for this. Hope really it will achieve in two different breeds, for the battle between the two types stop definitively.
