Neighbors living in the High Meadows area outside of Alvarado city limits in Johnson County, TX are banding together to request speed humps for their streets. We have several stories to share about the dangers of cars speeding through our streets causing accidents, killing pets, and making us fear for the safety of our children.

We choose to live in a less populated area for the peace, quiet, and safety. We should feel comfortable allowing our kids to ride their bikes, take our pets for walks, and enjoy the outdoors near our homes.

In the past, we've experienced the death of pets, the damage of property, and near misses due to drivers not respecting our speed limits and our safety. Let's put an end to this!

Hot spots include:

  • High Meadows Drive
  • Meadow Lake Drive

However, all neighbors in all surrounding roads have experienced these issues.

We believe that the installation of speed humps throughout the neighborhood will control the problem, and make our roads safe again. We urge Johnson County to take action to avoid loss of life. Let's not wait until someone we love gets hurt or dies before we make a change!
