The company just confirmed they are upgrading the router and issuing credits for the service gaps. I truly never thought they would listen to us, so this outcome belongs entirely to the folks who signed on and spoke up.

We, the undersigned residents of the Town of Shutesbury, MA and DSL customers have been experiencing extremely slow internet speeds for the past several months. We are paying for up to 3MB/second but are often only getting between 0.4Mb/sec and 1.7Mb/sec. In other words, we are paying for high-speed internet and not receiving it.

We understand from one of your Verizon technicians that the problem is that the router serving us is five years old, is overcapacity, and has not been upgraded or maintained since.

We request that you either update your local equipment so that we receive the service we are paying for, or refund to us from 56.6% to up to 77.7% for those hours in which internet service falls so far below the speed you advertise and for which you charge.

I am honestly stunned by how many of you stepped up to show that we all deserve better service for our money. This momentum belongs entirely to the residents who spoke out about their daily frustrations. It feels surreal to see people rallying around this issue and I am just happy to be a small part of it.

My daughter is newly enrolled at Amherst Regional Middle School where they are giving "flipped" classes - online homework instead of paper homework. When she has to do online homework our DSL connection is not able to support the videos. We now make other plans (to go to the library in town or to a cafe with wifi in Amherst) in order to accomodate her. This is a problem. Please help!

Slow DSL in evening times (in particular)...unable to access the services I pay for on a regular basis.

The "service" has been spotty for awhile now. It's especially bad, bad, bad at night. Worse yet, Verizon won't let you get DSL without a local phone line even when you don't want it! Monopoly at its worst.

I use the internet for work, so it is critical that I have dependable service. That has not been the case, which is hurting my business.

We use Crocker but it runs on Verizon lines. We have called regularly for repairs, which sometimes work, but only last for a week or so, then back to poor service. Very frustrating.

The service promised has been repeatedly sub-par. not fair business practice, as I see it. I and my wife have not only lost time in our businesses, but also in dozens and dozens of hours on the phone with tech support, customer service etc.. Please address this in a professional and ethical manner.
