The reason for this petition is to let you all know of cuts, happening again, to your special education assistants. I personally have been working in Salt Lake City School Districts special education department for almost 7 years. With in that time, we've had our hours reduced, been transferred to other schools, or just "let go". Most of the time this has been weeks before summer break. With the idea that if you don't like it....don't come back. You may know, or work with a Special Education Assistant. Then, you also know that we are stakeholders in our schools. This doesn't just affect our livelihoods. It also affects the special education students that rely on us for support in their education, and in sooo many other ways. I'm asking for your voice.
