AT&T is providing subpar service for an astronomical price. As college student taking online classes, I have been forced to invest in a mobile Hotspot to supplement when my AT&T service is out, costing me more money. I pay $56 a month for 3.0 mbps download speed that is unreliable. AT&T is no longer concentrating on its DSL customers, but giving its attention to uVerse customers in urban areas where they make more money. The copper lines here are outdated and they aren't bothering to maintain them, which is leading to our continuous outages. In this day and age, 3.0 mbps download speeds are no longer considered high speed internet and many customers only have the 1.5 service out here. In order to utilize streaming service, we need faster speeds, but instead are forced to rely on satellites or constant buffering streaming services for television. There is a waiting list for people who want internet in the area but can't get it because the DSLAM is full and AT&T won't put more out here to meet the demand. We need service!
