This petition is to request the VDN board of directors to call a special meeting to discuss the proposed HOA Management company they wish to hire. This petition is allowed for in the bylaws as follows:
Section 3.2 Special Meetings. Special meetings of the members may be called at any time by the president or by the board of directors, or upon written request of the members who are entitled to vote one-fourth (1/4) of all members.
This petition is neither against nor in support of hiring a HOA management company, but merely intends to call a special meeting where all residents can have their questions answered and their concerns heard.
This special meeting should be held before any decision is made by the board to hire an outside property management company.

We have reached the threshold of member requests required by the bylaws to compel a special meeting. I am finalizing the formal submission for the board of directors to review this week. I will provide a status report once they confirm the scheduling details for this session.

I support a special meeting to hear more about what the management company can provide for us, how they work with the current board and the contract we would have with them. I also support the board getting bids from more than one management company.
We would like to see more than one management company presentation . This is a large commitment to give to the only company residents heard from. Involving residents would likely result in less backlash later when regret or issues with the company arise.
Many reasons I moved to VDN in June 2019...right at the top of my list was the reasonable and affordable HOA fees. So, this concerns me that a management company would come in and charge a lot more. We need to know before this happens!
Just teeing up some questions... Are a percentage of HOA members required to approve engaging a HOA Mgmt company? Are there guaranteed benefits of engaging? What is the term and exit clause by either party? Hope to see everyone at the meeting.
We request the special meeting. The right management company can bring value to the HOA especially in enforcement of the rules. Volunteer members should not have to lean on their neighbors to correct infractions. Best left to an impartial non-resident manager.

I am very concerned that such a major change is being pushed by the board without the input of the people the board is supposed to represent. A special meeting is appropriate and should be held.
