This petition, along with a letter to State Senator Pat O'Connor in an attempt to persuade him to propose legislation regarding how long a student with disabilities can stay in a public school system. As of right now, the day before their 22nd birthday is a student's last day in any public school system in the state. Of course, the parental guardian(s) of these students can send them to schools that specialize with treating certain disabilities, but some of these facilities can cost a lot of money.
