Your signature to this petition represents that you agree with the implementation of the following district wide standards with regard to special education. These standards included within this petition will help to ensure that any child who resides in the ESM school district will receive a free and appropriate education as defined by NYS Part 200. Inclusion Classrooms: All inclusion classrooms should have a general education teacher that is dual certified in special education and regular education. Each K-3rd grade inclusion classroom should have a full time special education teacher to provide the most effective learning environment for all the children placed within the inclusion classroom model. Self-contained classrooms: K-6 self-contained classrooms need to be provided at EACH elementary school building for children within special education residing within the boundaries of that elementary school
