Such a valuable part of Sandringham, Dan has worked extremely hard to build a place for the people in the local community and during this has become a highly valued member of the community. This is not just for Dan but for the people too.

Please allow sparrows the extension and later hours they have requested. Our amazing village desperately needs some places that are open a little later and have more outdoor space that isn't on the road.

I’m truly shocked and saddened to see a place like Sparrows in this situation. Dan and his team do nothing but the right thing for both their customers and the surrounding Sandringham area. An extension of opening hours fulfils the area, promotes the local restaurants and discourages the need for locals to venture further afield. Bayside Council, do the right thing and listen to the voices of Sandringham.

Sparrows bar is the only public bar in Sandringham and caters to a more diverse clientele than a “pub” or “club”. It’s a social place where people gather for post-work drinks, friendly gatherings, and family catch ups. The venue could definitely use with more patronage and I wholeheartedly support this local business in their endeavours to grow!

We should be encouraging small businesses and any improvement to the night life as an alternative to “The Sandy” in Sandringham is going to make it a more desirable suburb to live in.

I live in a house 2 doors behind the bar and have no problem with them opening till 1am. In fact I think it’s great for all the locals to enjoy a great bar!

Bayside council, let these things happen and you might see a little something called nightlife come back to Sandringham. Take a little inspiration from Mordialloc, they're becoming the new St Kilda. Sandringham needs all the help it can get to attract people at night.

Please reconsider! Sandringham Village (and all of bayside!) deserve a venue that can stay open beyond 11pm! Dan and his team are responsible operators, who do the right thing.
