If you feel strongly about having Spanish as part of the "Specials" at Highcroft, please join our petition. Our goal is to implement a foreign language at the elementary school level because that is the time when children are adept at learning languages. As studies and personal experiences have shown, the crucial time to acquire a second or third language is at a young age because children are able to process and maintain multiple languages. Most countries incorporate a second language at all levels and all private and even preschools have a second language, there is no reason why Highcroft Elementary should not. Please join us to make our voices heard to the administration. Please realize that one of the "Specials" might need to be eliminate to accommodate Spanish for budget reasons. But, it is important that we get to choose what we want if this indeed what we would rather have.
