That wall has a lot of sentimental value to it! It allows current and future members to see the history from people that did what they love!

I didn't attend Spackenkill High School, but my own had a similar tradition, which was transformative.

Please preserve the history of Spack on Stage! It's about the kids memories af great times they've had together.

Theres so much history attached to this and to stop something that has become tradition is almost blasphemous.

Spack, you’re better than this. Some of my best memories are from high school! Clearly, some of many people’s best memories from high school happened on that stage. Don’t cover them up like that doesn’t matter.

Drama is a social group unlike any other I have seen as I parented my three kids through high school. That wall represents so much more than a legacy of names and good times. It gives the young adults a much needed sense of community and support, a motivation for hard work and dedication, and a greater more selfless purpose to think beyond their individual role, both in the play and real life, to connect with the people who went before and set an example, work towards positive growth, and leave the club a better place for those who come after.

My Junior High(Middle School) does the same thing and I think of they were to try and remove it there’d be uproar too. The backstage area (I assume) isn’t visible from the seating area so it can’t be “an eyesore” or anything like that, so why paint over it and ruin memories and traditions that span generations?

this is heartbreaking. and needs to stop! there are years of theatre history and the history of your school represented on THAT wall and to paint over it is a crime!

High school is an important time in a persons life. High school is the time period where most teenagers discover their passions in life. The moments that mold them to make their footprint in the world. Spackenkill drama club was a place many students called home. They signed their names in honor of what high school taught them. They were taught life lessons that can never be replaced or covered up. Please leave their names on the wall as inspiration to the new comers to make their footprint in their world. I will sign off with my favorite quote, “To the world, you are one person. But to one person, you are the world”
