There are many reason to abolish the 13"spread. 1 To cull the basket rack deer that will never reach a 13" spread 2 Overcome the difficulty of measuring a 13" spread 3 Ability to kill older deer, which is the objective, versus killing younger deer, because in reality a 13" spread does not mean it is an older deer.
