We can all agree, even if we have got our modules today, that the ballot once more is not fit for purpose. It is inconveniencing a number of degrees, as well as causing significant mental stress and anxiety at an already difficult time for students. The process has not been completely random and some people have missed out on the chance to get their preferred modules purely due to the service not being sufficient enough to sustain a high volume of traffic. This has happened for several years now, and enough is enough.

I have been reading through the messages you all sent about the stress this ballot caused and it confirms exactly why I started this. I am currently compiling your experiences into a formal report to present to the university administration so they can no longer ignore the reality of this broken system.

Seeing this level of support confirms that my own frustration is shared by so many of you who are tired of this broken system. This momentum proves that we are no longer willing to accept the constant stress of the ballot as just another part of our degree.

When choosing third year modules, the stakes are high so I was trying to access it for hours. Why can't they open it at different times for different faculties or come up with another solution to make sure the system works fairly?
I wasn't allowed access to the ballot until 10:55am at which point two of my three module preferences were full and no longer available. I hope this petition does some good!
Unacceptable that they do not see to alter the system giving the overwhelming pressure on servers. Perhaps, stagger module selections with other subject so that they are not on the same day therefore reducing traffic.
Last year, I had to wait for 7 hours to confirm my modules - some of which weren't even present on the form. Definitely needs to change in a big way!
'One in one out' while displaying a message that the whole site is closed. As if we all have all day to sit around waiting to get through.
