Water sports should be a requirement for a district that's boundary is touching the largest Ocean in the World. Most local lifeguards were like Randy Coutts "RC" CIF champion 200 freestyle Hilltop High 1968. Distinguished California State Lifeguard at Silver Strand. Many water people from the district programs lifeguard at local pools. If each school had a pool and good leadership at the district level. Great futures for many kids could be created. College scholarships, academic scholarships future educators successful individuals in all areas. Aquatics builds extremely fit healthy kids who can take on their future with the stamina, dedication and concentration aquatic programs developed in them during 4 years of High School water sports experience. In the book Lone Survivor, describing the horrific plight of a U.S.Navy Seal that became a Movie. That hero ran and swam from Imperial beach to Coronado. The U.S. Navy over time has found that Water Polo players had the most impressive graduation rate for Navy Seals. Another opportunity for some to go into service for their country. To be honest their is a big downside. Pools are very expensive to build operate and maintain. That is why we have a .5 pool. Mar Vista High pool is also Imperial Beach's. Aquatics are awesome and expensive what type of society opportunities do we want for the future generations? I think pools are great!

The rationale is extremely compelling, especially if Sweetwater wants to be recognized as a district that is competitive and on par with its competition.
