The mandate has been lifted and we finally have the parental choice we fought for. This process drained me completely but knowing our children have their autonomy back makes the struggle worth it. Keep watching the board meetings to ensure this decision remains final.

South Country School District Parents Choice For Masks

We the Parents of South Country School District are demanding parent choice when it comes to mask-wearing during the 2021-22 school year.
This petition is in favor of mask choice for school-aged children grades K-12 in South Country Central School District. We are calling on our school board and district administrators not to mandate masks for the 2021-22 school year. Parents should have the choice of having their child wear a mask in school.
There is no public health justification for forcing children to wear masks in school. When balanced against the physical, mental and emotional harm that is now becoming evident, it is clear that masks do more harm than good including anxiety and depressive feelings. Further, it has been proven time and time again that masks cannot not stop the spread of a virus due to the size of a virus. A virus is so small that it can still pass through microscopic holes in a mask.
Enough is enough and the only answer to mask wearing during the 2021-22 school is
IT'S UP TO THE PARENTS!

Parents should have the right to decide what is best for their child and their child’s needs !
There is no scientific data stating masks STOP the spread. These kids have been together the past 2+ months, unmasked, playing, socializing, participating in society, etc with no issues. Now you put them back into hot classrooms with masks back on again?? This is what’s going to cause them to be sick. There is no need for masks to be mandated. Let parents make the choice for their own children!!!!
I have had to pull out my son 13 because the masks are not good and he can’t wear them. We need parents choice we pay a lot of taxes. The school doesn’t choose for our children. They should be optional. I’m a healthcare professional and there is no data supporting masks and we have a lot of kids sick from them
Please allow our families to do what’s best for our children and let each family decide to mask or not. Please remote the mask mandate.
No data proves children/adults need to be masked. No reason why kids can’t sit at their desk without a mask. Stop the politics and think about their mental/emotional health. Make masks optional for all.
My body my choice. It is healthier for my child to NOT wear a mask.
Our children deserve a choice.

Masks are pointless. 6+ kids ended up with covid at the same time in my daughter's 3rd grade class and they wore masks ALL day and had dividers.
