Keep the mascot as Warriors. It was that since the beginning, my aunt, uncles and my mom went to SSF HS and it was Warriors and when I went there it was Warriors!! Why change it now? Just leave it alone as Warriors!!!!

This is ridiculous. I’m proud to be a South San Francisco WARRIOR alumni! Let’s just kill off another legacy because someone is offended. Someone is always going to be offended about something... get over it and protest something that’s worth it like homelessness and poverty and crime

For one hundred years, the city of South San Francisco and South San Francisco High School has embraced diversity and celebrated our multi-cultural community time and time again. We are a town of inclusion, not exclusion. South City High is a true “melting-pot’ of the world, where on any day, you’ll regularly find groups of kids hanging out together in which there may be 10 different cultures and countries of origin represented. South San Francisco High School has 21 native languages other than English spoken every day on campus and we are extremely proud of that fact. Some may say that South City High is a shining example of how multiculturalism works here in the US. South City High is also very proud of its own history and school culture. Part of this proud history is our Warrior Logo. The Warrior logo has been a symbol of many things for many students, faculty, staff and alumni. The Warrior symbolizes fighting for causes that we believe in, protecting family, and battling without fear. The Warrior symbolizes strength, heroism and honor. The Native American image as our logo embodies all of these aspects. We are using the proud, powerful and fearless Native American as an inspiration and role-model for our students. We are celebrating a proud Native American culture and linking its culture with our own. The logo is a positive reflection of our respect for Native American culture as well as an inspiring symbol of our fight for all of the things we hold dear to our school. Unfortunately, recently, a group of students have circulated a petition to change our logo. With their petition, a particularly reprehensible and racist flyer was attached, which gave the impression that if you did not agree with their point of view, that somehow you were choosing a racist opinion over their own. This type of bullying and disrespect for opposing opinions does not fit our culture of inclusion and respect of ideas that we have been teaching successfully over the years. Everyone is e
