I can't sign this because I was driven out of San Francisco by gentrification, but closing Vallejo St. between Columbus and Grant is a ridiculous proposal. Traffic circulation into and out of North Beach depends entirely on this particular block being open to two-way traffic.

Vallejo Street being closed now for water main replacement, I can clearly see the negative impact the Piazza will have on traffic. It will be a mess.

We don't need this Piazza, it's going to create more problems and nightmare traffic and homeless problem. At the end, all the rent for businesses is going to skyrocket.

Closing the street permanently would reek havoc with the already congested traffic in the neighborhood. It also would create problems for many patrons of Trieste and other neighborhood stores who need disabled parking .

This proposal is so much better than the original (which despite Angela's attestation, was sprung upon everyone with no warning). This alternative takes the needs of everyone rather than the original which only benefits Angela.

I am almost always in favor of projects like this. I think we have too few of them. However, I have become adamantly opposed to this one. This is somebody's pet project that's being shoved down the neighborhood's throat. This is public property, not somebody's private kingdom. I tried to post here a little earlier, but was erroneously listed as living in Oakland. I live in North Beach in San Francisco. Trying again.

I am a senior citizen as are most of my friends. Many of us drive to North Beach for coffee or lunch. The closing of Vallejo will take it's toll on our ability to engage in the socialization we have depended on for years as an important aspect of our mental and physical well being.

As a long time resident of north beach I am offended by the sneaky back dealings that this project sponsor/developer has chosen. They gave kept residents out of the loop at every turn because for years the residents have opposed this project. The arrogance of this pac heights developer is beyond all reason.
