I have been using the salon every season for about 18 years. It has been a BIG plus to have this service in Island Walk. It is terribly unfair not only to the owner who has invested so much love, toil and money in the shop, but to those of use who count on using this salon!

I cant believe this would ever happen! What kind of people would do this! I have been upset with a lot of things that went on here but this is just plain mean.

Amenities should not be allowed to be changed or removed without the votes from residents and/or from Concur. What’s going to be next - the nail salon? We pay for these amenities with our HOA dues and we get a small income from them. Are we supposed to make up the difference? The Activities store room that we heavily used was taken away from the Activities committee and made a lunch room for employees. Only 1 employee eats in there daily but the table and all around is storage. Employees eat in the kitchen daily. Why can’t this room be utilized now, if needed. The back room was used for 20 years for employees for breaks and lunch. Now I’m told it has electronics in it. It always had electronics in it. I tried copying a photo of the new lunch room but could not. The owner lives in IW and fixed the beauty shop up with her own money. This is not how an owner/ resident should be treated.”

I want to save the salon. The BOD and KW should have openly informed the residents of this. The real estate office had their lease amount lowered and that isn’t nearly as popular as the hair salon. The salon is one of r some tired that makes IW a special place while competing with newer communities. The BOD and KW have mis handled this situation and lost the confidence of many residents who elected them! Shame on them!

I love the salon and having a salon on site was one of the reasons we chose Island Walk. Please keep it open.

Totally unfair, possibly illegal and immoral to close this salon. It is time for our wonderful board to reverse its decision.
