The 10th street shopping district is an assortment of much loved locally owned consignment boutiques, antique stores, charity shops and other unique mom and pop destination shops.

Locals and visitors come in droves to visit these shops. They come for the unique finds, they come for the bargains, they come for the friendly local service from the store owners themselves. All of this is about to be destroyed if we don't take action.

Just within the last month three beloved shops on 10th are being bulldozed in favor of more condos

The reason for this massive intrusion of over-development?......

Potential Favorable incentives by the city that encourages big development. Things such as density bonuses, units per acre increases, building height easements, and changes to permitted use zoning. All of this creates a feeding frenzy for big developers.

You can write the script, bye bye unique locally owned shops .. Hello overpriced multi story condos and exorbitant commercial space that either becomes boring offices or chain retailers. Naples starts to look like every other big city.
By signing this petition we are asking city government to be mindful of our eclectic shopping district. we have survived recessions, we cannot survive outlandish rent increases or the bulldozer!

Put the brakes on over-development!

By signing this petition we are asking that city council
stay within the charter height limits.
No to density increases
NO!! TO RESIDENTIAL ONLY AS PERMITTED USE ON 10TH

We need to maintain the character and charm of what these area businesses offer our locals and visitors.

Let’s be honest it’s shameful if we allow to continue developing our city without having concerns for the real Naples’ blood and heritage that have established iconic businesses for this city we call home. There needs to be more balance and unity. Development should be built on intentions to benefit the community not destroy its foundation.

These wonderful small privately owned shops are part of what makes Naples such a special place to live. We do NOT need more condos!

Just what Naples needs: more traffic, more congestion and less support for small businesses: NOT! Keep trying to do developments like this, and you will ruin Naples.
