Walked the streets many a late night in SoNo and it's usually quite by bedtime. A little noise goes with the neighborhood in this case. Give them a break and drop this.

To be fair, you're petitioning a noise ordinance proposal that is less stringent than what NYC bars and businesses that play music are held to which is 42 dB(A). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyrNJ6E10IE
The proposed ordinance in Norwalk would change it from 62dB(A) to 45 dB(A). The reported 42dB(A) is wrong. Keep in mind this measurement is from inside the adjoining unit or from the street at a distance of 15ft, not from within the business itself. With proper sound proofing this number can be obtainable to some degree and everyone would be happy including the residents who live above them.
What you're basically saying by signing this is that a business should not need to soundproof their unit properly if they want to play loud music which is ridiculous.

I own an apt in the haviland arms and never hear the noise from the streets. This ordinance will be a business killer. Sono has already been in deep decline compared to the way it was in the late 90's and early 2000's. They should instead have more incentive for new establishments (hopefully live rock and punk music venue) to open and more incentives for people to come down to south Norwalk.

The night life and restaurants are what Sono is about. I love all the different restaurants there, people who move into the area know what they are getting into!

The "noise" level they're proposing is lower Db rating than people having a conversation - That's insane. Not only will this crush restaurants/nightlife, NO BUSINESS is going to sign a lease downtown... period.

Let Norwalk continue to grow and thrive. Making any changes to the current noise regulations could bring unpropitious effect to businesses, residents and future Norwalkers!

It would be unfair for a noise ordinance to change the livelihood of businesses and restaurants in Sono. There are PLENTY of places all over Norwalk other than Sono for people to live who do not want to hear nightlife sounds.

Do not change the noise laws which might harm the busineses that fuel SoNo vibrancy

Sono used to be a vibrant thriving economic driving force for the city. With the recent parking changes, people have gone else where for entertainment or even food..passing this noise ordinance will only futher hurt the growth that Sono desperately needs right now. We, as a town, should be supporting our local businesses not trying to drive them out.

It's bad enough that the city has gone mad with their parking meter fees and handing out tickets seconds after a meter expires. I fear you'll absolutely crush SoNo businesses and growth, unless this is the goal of the politicians running Norwalk???

This is a very slippery slope that could damage or bankrupt many businesses. With the potential for disruption in business looming with the proposed walk bridge construction these things need to be considered in conjunction, not as completely separate instances.

I moved to Washington Street last summer to an apt above Salon Etre. While at times, there is normal city noise, I fully realized that when I moved here. I feel strongly against putting further noise restrictions on existing businesses who provide the destination/entertainment factor for Sono. Please allow Sono to thrive and grow by allowing our local businesses to succeed!!!

Get rid of the noise ordinance. People who are knowingly moving above a bar, club, lounge or restaurants with bands loud music or DJd should know there will always be loud ,room shaking music and should love it . Prospective people looking for a quiet neighborhood should NOT move to a musically charged night life area and expect everyone suddenly change their business model so you can watch Golde girls on Netflix without any noise above 75db. Plenty of quiet rooms in hospice if you are looking for quiet.
