Seagate Terminals, a subsidiary of Dulany Industries is the new owner of the former Belharbour Station site, on our beautiful Elizabeth River. It is the largest supplier of Sulfuric Acid on the East Coast, its facilities serve their customers 24 hours a day. SeaGate Terminals is specifically designed to store bulk and bagged materials. The 20 plus acres with deep water access is the entryway into the heart of Chesapeake. The original plan was a marina, water taxi access tied to the Norfolk and Portsmouth, retail, restaurants, condos and office space. Market conditions may have changed, and this plan can be altered to address those changes. The work needed to be done to clean and ready that space for development is done. This space is meant to revitalize Chesapeake's South Norfolk borough. The current zoning we fought so hard for was meant to enjoy our beautiful Elizabeth River, and promote growth in this part of Chesapeake. Will you accept a rezoning of this space from multi use to heavy industrial? Please help us keep the zoning the way it is so we can further revitalize the Gateway to Chesapeake.
