Homework has always been a part of school since the begining of school itself. But what used to be a simple extra practice assignment for students has become ridiculous. Now students have up to five projects a week and four pages of homework each night per class. The average high school student has anywhere from four to nine hours of homework each night. The problem though isn't the difficulty of the work but rather the amount. I propose that all high school teachers per grade per school meet at least once every other month to make sure projects are not over laping and that extra homework is not being piled on when these large projects are due. It would take a lot of stress off of students, less students would be failing due to incomplete undone homework, and students wouldn't have to stay up until outrageous times in order to complete homework and projects.
