This is totally unacceptable and downright disgusting. I'm all up for supporting Suja's plea.

Pl share on Facebook. There is a support group for this French consulate guy and your story would be interesting to know, as you are also a Frenchman who married an Indian woman. The French consulate guy is suffering prejudice caused by his wife that no Indian women lie.

I know each case is different. But in case of the French Consulate guy, I do have a fare idea of what may have happened.
I am ready to share my contact details to anyone upon request if you want to verify what I wrote.

In conclusion:
On one side it is good that Indian law does not facilitate or encourage people to divorce. On the other side, since the Indian law allow divorce only in 2 case, mutual consent or fault, stories like mine (or maybe teh one of the French consulate guy) will continue to happen.
Since my wife is in France she went twice to the Police, claiming I dont let her see the child (while I am happy to see him happy to see his mother) and that I am not taking care of her during her stay in France. So I am forced to host her in my home, despite all what she has ploted against me.
In any case I will have to pay. But in a try to lesser my financial burden I have started to investigated more deeply the life of my wife:
I now discover that she has parents, while she pretended she was an orphan when we got married.
I discover on her facebook page several pictures of her on a motobike in the country side in India, while I never had a motorbike...
I discover that she had made many suicide attemps before I knew her.
I discover that during our married life she had tried to get French citizenship without informing me (since our wedding happened in India we are under Indian marital law but if she becomes French it falls under French law, whereby I have to share with her all my belonging in case of divorce).
Etc...
Etc...

After informing my wife about that she started to create problems at home, harrassing me in order to get divorced. I never wanted to do so since there was a child now.
2 weeks before the planned flight, I received a petition from court, where my wife wanted the custody of our child, claiming that I had been a bad and violent husband from the very beginning, beating her and the child, not paying for anything at home, etc...
At home my wife was continuing harassing me and threatening me that the same fate as the French Consul guy would happening to me if I refused to get grant her divorce...
Obviously I got scared and decided to fly with our child to France, upon advice of my Lawyer and despite the petition.
From our child and I requested my wife to come and join us during months. She refused. Even when I proposed to get divorce but in France, so that child could continue to see both of us regularly.
After 2 months I received in France a letter from Indian court, the request for divorce from my wife. In return, my French lawyer advised me to also file for divorce under French law.
Finally now, 8 months after I had left India with our child, my wife suddently came to France. It was not to see her child but mainly to attend a hearing in the frame of my request for divorce. At everyone's surprise, she now says that she does mind if the child stay in France with me, as long as she get a big sum of money...

A very similar story is currently happening to me. I am also a French citizen (of Indian origin) and my wife is Indian.
Except the accused and his wife, nobody know what really happened so I won't give any judgment.
In my case (I m: I guess I met and married my wife under circonstances very similar to them.
After 5 years of married life in India and one child, I had to come back to France for my job.

This whole thing is a mess. French authorities need to stop hiding and let the law work in Bangalore instead of protecting their own people based on nothing.
