In order to support the protests for democracy and change in Iran, please join us in the demonstration on June 18 at 16:30 in front of the Dutch Parliament. We intend to support the struggle of those people in Iran who are rallying on the streets of the country risking their lives and suffering casualties to object to the illegitimate results of the election. So our slogans are those of the people on the streets of Iran. Since the battle for fundamental rights is one that is not only confined to Iranians, we sincerely hope that you would join us to support our will for a free reelection and to condemn the violence against Iranian people who are fighting for their rights. By signing this petition, we announce our support for the people in Iran in their fight for freedom and democracy. And we demand Dutch and other European governments to speak out their support for the Iranian people and condemn the violence used by the Iranian police and basiji's. -------------------------------------------------- In de afgelopen dagen hebben miljoenen mensen in Iran vreedzaam gedemonstreerd tegen de frauduleuze uitslag van de presidentsverkiezingen afgelopen vrijdag. Ze komen op voor een ander Iran, met vrijheid en sociale rechtvaardigheid. Met onze manifestatie willen we laten zien dat we hun droom delen en hun strijd steunen - juist nu ze geconfronteerd worden met repressie en agressie. Vanuit het buitenland kunnen we weinig anders doen dan de interne strijd te steunen en geweld ertegen te veroordelen. Daarom roepen we het Nederlandse parlement en de Nederlandse regering op om o deze uitslag niet te erkennen, o het brute geweld dat tegen de demonstranten gebruikt wordt te veroordelen, o bij de Iraanse autoriteiten aan te dringen op de vrijlating van de politieke gevangenen, die de laatste dagen zijn opgepakt.
