Blockades are depriving people of food. When people do not eat they die. This is genocide. Please stop playing the victim Israel and love you neighbor. Let the past go and end the suffering on both sides. Please.

Jews never had any right to occupy Palestine in spite of the UN resolution. The atrocities they have perpetrated against the Palestinians since then cancel any rights for the Jews to be in Palestine. The only solution is to resettle the Jews occupying Palestine in other countries, and allow Palestinian refugees the right of return. The Jews do not deserve any compensation, in fact they should be made to compensate the Palestinians for their brutal treatment of them.

The 1st and 14th amendments prohibit the federal and state governments respectively from restricting expression. Ohio University is a state University so it's agents (arguably including the student senate president) are included as government actors who the amendments are intended to protect the "public" against. There is also a provision in the 1st (incorporated through 14th to the states) protecting public from government agents (including public college student body presidents) from intertwining religion and government. Threats are excepted from 1st and 14th so no threat to anyone is free speech but is itself a crime. So other than the threats, the protected speech is the critics of the blood bucket pouring senate president and if anyone is violating anyone's constitutional rights it is her. Just wanted to clear that up.

Even though I am a huge advocate for Freedom of Speech I cannot sign this at all. The problem is not the video itself (although there are many problems with it) but the problem is that she was nominated as the Student Body President and called for the whole school to go against Israel because of her own personal opinion. I am Senior Class Vice President in my school and when I was nominated for the Humus not Hamas challenge I did it on my own, not as the Senior Class Vice President, because I know not everyone agrees with my opinion and with my position i'm supposed to represent the whole class's opinion, not use it to talk about my own. She was nominated by the University's president and called for the whole University to go against Israel. What does this mean for all the Jewish, Israeli and Pro-Israel students in the school? The least she needs to do is issue a public apology, and if she won't do her job properly she should she leave the position as well. Letting her go like this without a single punishment just tells all the Jewish students in the school that they are being targeted against and that they are not welcome. And let me refute, the problem here is not the freedom of speech, hundreds of people have done the Blood Bucket Challenge and no one cared. The problem here is that she did it trying to represent the whole school, she completely abused her position of power to push her own personal belief. The people attacking her are not doing any better than her, however no one is creating a petition trying to defend their actions. There is no excuse or way to defend her.

I am totally for FREEDOM of SPEECH! But in this instance I am appalled she used or rather misused the ALS Challenge in such an ugly way. Second, it would be nice if her opinions were backed up by actual facts. It's a sad day when someone takes their inexperience and true lack of knowledge and use it like this. She could have expressed her feelings (not facts by the way) in a different manner...that is all I am saying. So no signature on this petition.

For those of you who clearly have no idea what is happening in Gaza let me enlighten you. Per the Geneva Convention during times of war non combatants are not to be targeted. Along with non combatants are the protected buildings; among these are schools, churches, and hospitals.

Events such as in the article above are illegal. Israel is indiscriminately attacking Palestine and we (Americans) are funding it. We are doing the same thing as Russia; yet we are good and they are evil?

Funnily enough, Israel developed what is likely the first cure for ALS.

The Israel-Firster Hasbara clowns from the cult of AIPAC should be appalled at Israel's racist apartheid system and it's murderous attacks on the Palestinians of the Gaza Ghetto instead of whining like jackals against Megan drawing attention to their plight. Bravo Megan!

To be a leader, you do not have to apolitical or pretend to be. You should also stop assuming that all Jewish students identify with Israel or support its government's policies. She didn't call for violence against anyone. What does this have to do with her doing her job? She doesn't have to represent everyone's opinion on political matters, she just has to advocate for the student body at meetings and such. I don't see anything wrong with the student president promoting BDS.

She represented whats right, I dont know how you're okay with thousands of innocent civilians being slaughtered. You need to look inside of yourself, throw away what is "politically correct" and stand up for what is right. Even if you're pro Isreal or jewish, their is no excuse for innocent people to be slaughtered. This girl megan is a Hero, She could have laid silent and kept her opinion to herself. But she choose the road less traveled and stood up for what she believed in. Thats the quality of a revolutionary, she will be on the right side of history.

I am appalled you wrote this lame comment, but I respect your right to write it. Megan made a political statement that has already been effective at drawing attention to war crimes in the MiddleEast, if you don't like her political statement, don't watch it.

So would you have supported South African Apartheid in the 1990's? No, we didn't, yet we were not attacking South Africa, just the racist subjugation of a people, which is what we are trying to do with Israel. Blind allegiance to a country, presumably not your own, is dangerous at least. As an American, you need to be supporting what is in American interests, and supporting Israel at this point is not in our interests. Otherwise you are toadie at best and a traitor at worst. Better get your priorities straight Anahi.

Maybe you should actually investigate what is happening in Gaza and the Israeli treatment of the Palestinians before you shoot off your thoughts in such a way as to prove you are either a tool or a raving ignoramus on the topic. As an American your allegiance to our country should make you appalled at what the Israelis, our supposed allies, have drug us into.

I see you used your time here to express how "appalled" you were with her "misuse" of the challenge in such an "ugly" way.
No such expression of dismay over the this?>>>> "These attacks have been incredibly derogatory. Many have included extremely sexist and racist language. Nearly all of them have attempted to intimidate her into resigning from her position in the Student Senate. One of the messages directed the "n-word" at Ohio University's black president, Dr. Roderick McDavis, who has not taken a position on the Israeli massacre in Palestine. The worst messages have included explicit death threats".
