Solar Farms in Boyle County Must Be Built RESPONSIBLY

Let's do this right the first time!

We can be leaders in land stewardship and clean energy.

Honestly, I am not happy at all that this is being allowed within the agriculturally rich Boyle county and it’s historic farms and communities. They are a massive eyesore and detract from the landscape. They deplete the local wildlife and drain the land of its resources. If we as residents and farm owners have no choice in the matter, fine, they must be heavily regulated! But I sincerely prefer them to find someone where else to build! Please take your technology somewhere else and leave our land as it is.

I’m a great believer in solar energy but think it should be put on land that’s not good for farming. There is a lot of land that fits this description.

We can have solar energy and protect our farmland and rural areas

Our precious and irreplaceable farm land (some of the most fertile in the country) must be protected. I'm in favor of solar energy, BUT there is plenty of non-arable land that can be used. It'll cost the solar plant more money (farmland is already leveled and ready), but we MUST PROTECT our agriculture.

It took millennia for the rich, deep topsoil here to developed. Farmers and land owners have benefited from it for years. Now it's their responsibility to be good stewards. If they can't or won't, then regulation should be imposed to protect the land. Solar collection sites should be placed on un-tillable land or industrial areas.

Necessary stuff!

Diversified energy resources are important to our natural security and energy independence. Renewable energy is the future if we are to keep our planet habitable.

Requiring energy developers to obtain a CUP is essential for protection of farmland.
