Everything mentioned in this petition, i have personally witnessed and have been victimized of. I am not the only one who has noticed this. They pick and choose when they want to implement rules and who they do and dont want to enforce these rules against. They also completely make up their own rules. Most recently visits are being terminated after 1:45 which is the end of visitor processing even when the visiting room is not at capacity and there is no one trying to get into a visit. This is just the tip of the hat of the visiting process problems at csp solano.

The visiting at solano is getting out of control. I personally have had horrible experiences there. Ive had to go change 3 times with my 2 little ones of the ages of 3 and 4. Feeling frustrated because all we want is to see our loved one. This is unacceptable. Most of us feel discouraged by the time they even let us in to visit after giving us such a hard time to even get in, in the first place.

I hope the person or persons that this petition goes to puts their selves in the position of the family and friends of these inmates as well as the inmates them selves and makes the proper changes that need to be made. It is just really sad that people have to go through this to be able to visit and the state claims its all rehabilitation but then the inmates and their love ones have to go through all this.

Ive been visiting at this prison a little over a year i have so many stories from clothing issues, one day they didnt let me in after changing four times i went home but they left my man in the holding tank for three hours before they told him i left. The new vpass rules make it impossible to get a visit its been six weeks since i been able to get a visit because i have 2 minors and myself, i arrive to my 9:30 visit but being processed is so time consuming so i get in visiting room at 10:30 to learn there is some type of emergency there doing count prisons on freeze so no prisoners are moving. This lasted an hour and a half so theres some kids between 10 and 12 yrs old hitting other with these foam toys in the play area and im watching because my 6 and 4 yr old are playing there two so a little while later i see my boys doing the same thing so i walk over there and tell them to stop . I walk away and see CO brings my nieces son and say " your visit is terminated for non-supervision" he then looks at my son and says "wheres your mom ?" i say "i am his mom" he says your visit is terminated also. He asks us to follow him out of the visiting room and my niece says" i want to speak to the visiting sargeant" so he leaves to the area outside the visiting room, comes back and say "you may not speak to the seargent the Co in the bubble will speak with you" my niece says " i want the seargent" so i say "I'll go" so the co goes in there and tells the other co im refusing to leave, so he comes out and starts basically yelling at me to get my stuff and kids and get out! I say" wait y are you yelling at me talking all crazy the CO said you wanted to speak to us so thats y im here he continues to demand me to leave i go in the visiting room clean off my table get my kids while hes yelling at me to get out so i yell back " im giving these people the food i puchased im coming" he still demanding me to leave while i walk to the garbage " i said" im throwing away this garbage" we leav

I Have a son here and I have a disability that requires me to use strechy leggings that I do have a doctor note for and I always have problems getting in I get sent back almost every visit for my clothing which makes it hard I have swelling problems . on feb 18 and deputy buffy or duffy told my grandson of 6 years old that this was not Disneyland it was Prison because he had to change his dress shirt he picked to show his daddy .. my grandson cried so much asking why did she say that grandma? I then waited after visit and spoke to the sergeant Hamblin and he said ok?? I was like I want this to b addressed and he just smirked and never got a apology of the deputy's conduct to my grand son who only visits on school vacation due to living with his mother .. all I want to say is they are always making their own rules not following title 15 at all and always laughing at us visiters treating us with no respect I was even told by a guy in black to back off the red line or he would shut down visits and I said its pouring and I just got here I'm dizzy and ill move rt now he said well move it take the kid and move I said I will not allow u to speak to me like that and he went inside and told the sargent I'm leaving befor I do something they are really bad at solano disrespectful and only like a few and never do I see them struggle ..

About a year and a half ago I was exciting visiting, stalked by ISU, then forced on to the hood of my suburban (mistaken identity). After being thoroughly harassed I was informed of the "mistaken identity". The lady ISU dismissed me with, "are we good?". No other apology offered. The visiting Lt. Jimenez told me I can leave the institution but as I head out the gate another ISU told me to pull over so they can search my vehicle. I about lost my mind and demanded to know WHO ACTUALLY RUNS THIS PLACE?
These people are insane with their mindset that EVERYONE is doing something illegal. Its pathetic. I used to visit my son every other weekend for 7 years but its too much with the way an upstanding business owner of 33 years can be disrespected and treated like a drug smuggler. They need their paychecks cut in half and be forced to do some real work so they can learn some respect for upstanding citizens. Abuse of power is a hideous thing. Good Luck.

This issue is obviously happening on both sides Level 2 and level 3, we are all harassed about the clothing and this is getting worse throughout the years. When Swarthout was our Warden he made things much easier for families because he looked at it from both sides and how would he want his family treated with situations like this..Our new warden Arnold on the other hand can care less and is allowing his staff to mistreat visitors and loved ones which is completely unacceptable! It's upsetting but NOTHING will hold me back from my husband and I will continue to fight this battle to the fullest and pray we get the proper treatment for BOTH sides NOT just level 3, it's Level 2 also!

I don't believe there should be any reason why us as a Guest should be treated in those manners ,We are there to simply visit loved ones . we are not on trial Just visiting .

I was a visitor at Solano for 4+ years. My grandmother has been visiting my uncle for many many years. And over the years things have changed drastically. From making appointments all the way to getting on the floor. This goes for both levels, 1 & 2. Something needs to be done!

My daughter and I have experienced harassment by correctional staff regarding our clothing on several occasions. In fact, we were unable to visit for both Father's day and Christmas Eve in 2016 because the staff claimed my pants were too tight.
The pants worn on Father's day were the same pants I've worn for years at Solano. I'm sure most women can attest to having "visiting clothing" that are literally purchased and set aside just for visiting. I was very upset when we were told that we couldn't get in if I did not change. My daughter and I went straight to the mall in Vacaville and purchased several hundred dollars worth of clothing that was loose fitting. My husband called when we were parking at the mall and asked if everything was ok, as he wondered why he hadn't been called out to visit. I immediately began to cry and call myself fat since they made me feel horrible about the way I fit in my jeans. I am thicker on the bottom half of my body so it is hard to find pants that fit my legs and thighs loosely without being extremely loose in the waist. My husband consoled me and told me not to worry, that he's heard the C/Os have been doing this to people a lot lately and that I should not be hard on myself, that it is not me. I ended up buying jeans that are two sizes bigger than I would normally buy and began wearing those in.
On Christmas Eve, I wore the newly purchased jeans (which I had worn in several times since purchased) and was told they were too tight. I pulled the jeans from my hips and from my legs to reveal approximately 4 inches of space that exists between my body and the jeans. The male C/O then asked me who I was visiting. I told him that I was visiting my husband and that these jeans were bought two sizes too big on purpose and that I've worn them several times with no problems. He then asked the female C/O working at the counter what she thought and she agreed with him. I then asked nicely, "No disrespect, but c

Currently I have a Loved one in Solano. I concur with every word of this petition, I have also been part of the mistreatment of Solano CO's especially CO Guzman. CO Sandoval sent me back to change starting that she could see inside me shirt thru the button if she looked sideways. I gathered my belongings and waited outside for the shuttle so that I can go change, as I was waiting & tslkkng to the visitors in line CO Guzman came out and yelled at me stating that if I continued talking to the visitors he would terminate my visits. I attended a meeting with IFC on 2/17/17 and asked if the CO's were allowed to cancel visitors visits for talking to other visitors, and the warden stated "yes". I don't see that to be true, but as someone mentioned they make their own rules! I would like to see where it in writing where it states that CO's can cancel visits for talking to other visitors. By the way there was no disrespectful words being said while I was talking to other visitors!

I agree. I am one that constantly gets harrassed.
