Reb Shloime, Now after a week since the terrible incident there has not been even one Rav or RY that has contemned the violence that occurred. If you will put down your foot surely there will be changes in their behavior.

Please Mr. Sol I was appalled by the violence and chilul shabbos that i heard about that were committed by the ger community in Israel. Since I understand you are one of their largest donors I am sure you can do sdomething to stop this behavior.

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. I am a simple concerned member of klal yisroel who lives in Lakewood NJ. I am not chassidish although I do come from a chassidish background (not Gur).
I want to begin by thanking you for all that you do, as American Jewry’s foremost askan, both for Klal Yisroel and R’ Yisroel. I also want to apologize for taking of your precious time and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read my letter.
I an writing to urge you to do all that you can to make sure that what is going on in your beloved Gur comes to an immediate end. I am sure that you are pained and horrified as are thousands of other wonderful chassidei Gur. But mere pain and shame is not enough as something needs to be done.
The chilul hashem that happened this last Shabbos is unprecedented. Never have mobs of hundreds of people attacked their fellow frum yidden in four cities throughout Israel. Never has violence been sanctioned by a kehilla in klal yisroel. We are a few days after the event and we still have not heard a word from the rebbe or the establishment saying clearly that this is not what was intended and that such a thing may never happen again. This leads one and all to believe that this is exactly what Mendelssohn meant with his disgraceful letter and that רחמנא לצלן it could happen again at anytime.
I heard from my daughter who is in a seminary, in that area of Yerushalayim, that on Shabbos the girls were crying hysterically and traumatized after seeing young boys being attacked by mobs and pulled by their peyos. She said that there were women screaming and crying from the porches that the violence should stop but no one heeded their call. My daughter called me that I should explain to her what is going on and I was a total loss. She also told me that there are gerrer girls in her seminary who were hiding in their rooms from extreme shame.
The entire rhetoric of the Gur establishment has to change. They need

This story in Eretz Yisroel is not a local story. If everyone can decide on their own where the 'red lines' are and act accordingly, with no Rabbinical oversight, no signature from a recognized Rav allowing it, we are all doomed.
The violence and extremism, especially when it is not even in the name of Hashem, rather with the excuse of 'everyone would do it', is a terrible influence on all of us and we cannot allow this to become the new normal.
Agudah of America, you consider budget cuts in EY your business. If so, this is certainly your job. You must protest strongly in our names that the Yidden in Eretz Yisroel should know that we are not in favor of this kind of activity.
