I am totally opposed to this subdivision. How can the county even consider it when it is against the law. Somebody needs to wake up!!!

Preposterous "sell out" to developers. Is this a country which adheres to rule of law, to say nothing of common sense, ethical behavior, and consideration of historic and practical uses, feasible limitations of our already depleting/depleted natural resources, lack of suitable infrastructure, reduced quality of the environment, and aesthetic degradation?
I am absolutely opposed to permitting this monstrous development in this area. I call on the board to follow the plan and regulations that would already preclude installation of such a poorly thought-out entity that is totally contrary to the nature of the area that has drawn current residents.

I moved here for the rural lifestyle. I know what its like to live in tract housing and congestion. I am completely apposed to the concept of 920 houses and the traffic it will bring, not to mention the risk of our water depletion and our property value declining. I didn't move here for this!

Please keep Elbert County rural. Please do not approve any new subdivision developments that are building houses on anything less than a couple acres.

County resources and services are already stretched thin. While the impact of traffic, views, natural impacts (animals), and light pollution will be felt most by those immediately adjacent to this development, anyone in Elbert County who thinks that county services or sheriff response times will be IMPROVED by this proposal is going to have a rude awakening. County officials complain that citizens are not engaged. Well, we have pointed out to CDS, County Attorney, Planning Commission, and County Commissioners that they are not only violating their own rules and regulations, but are running contrary to state law. It is a sad day for Elbert County when the citizens are more versed in legalities than its leaders. Follow the law. Start over with new zoning. Aren't you tired of being in the news? We are.

As a citizen that moved here to be in the country and not the suburbs, I agree that the development is too big and is not supported by the infrastructure in place or proposed. I have some questions from meeting minutes and postings. If the zoning laws for our county have not been followed how can commissioners agree to the development going ahead? In addition, I have yet to find someone who is a citizen of the county that supports a development that does not fit with the stated and posted vision of the county. The only supporters of such a development that I have heard from so far, are the commissioners and developers. The developers do not live here and as far as I am aware will not buy the land unless the zoning laws are changed to support their business venture. I am also under the impression that the commissioners work for the citizens of the county and should be listening to, and following their voices first, as they are the people that voted them into their positions to represent them and not developers. Am I misunderstanding the job description and laws?

If government employees and public servants claim to be patriotic Americans, then their first duty is to protect American rights to be heard. We moved to this area and made an investment in our way of life because the Master Plan ensured that our area would remain rural. Now, a few desperate and short-sighted politicians are using the county commissioner seats in both Douglas and Elbert counties to accommodate developers outside of the master plan, the rezoning rules, and outside of the voice of the people. If they cannot govern ethically, they can be reported to the state. If the state won't do anything about this problem, then we the people should push to create an online system where the people vote and govern themselves. Eliminate the county commissioner seat altogether. They are not needed. We can vote on these issues ourselves.

Too many homes proposed for this area. The number of homes per acre needs to be reduced substantially. 920 homes do not fit in to the surrounding area, where lot sizes are much bigger per house.
