Calypso and Soca music has a long legacy of rich musicianship and instrumentation. From it's inception to now, it has developed many other different music forms over the decades and deserves to be represented by its own 'genre' of music of its own titles, calypso and soca. It is irresponsible to label/tag these genres as 'world' or 'reggae' music, because it has its incorrect and there are actual existing titles based in the deeply rooted cultures of the British, French, Dutch and Spanish Caribbean Islands. To offer our music on your media platform without its proper genre titles is an injustice to the original creators of the music forms and to the education of the future generations.
