Open letter to Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins football team: We, the undersigned fans of the Washington Redskins, believe that you are chiefly responsible for the Redskins’ sustained mediocrity over the decade in which you've owned the team. You have created a corporate culture that disdains mutual respect among ownership, management, players, coaches, and fans. Your malfeasance has stemmed principally from your refusal to hire and entrust long and short-term football decisions to a professional management team, consisting of a general manager, head coach, and subordinate coaching staff. Your personal, amateur meddling in personnel decisions, e.g., surrendering draft picks for over-priced free agents and constant turnover of head coaches, has destroyed the sense of continuity that is an absolute requirement for a successful franchise. Mr. Snyder, YOU are the problem. We call upon you to sell the team. We will withdraw our support until you do so. We will not attend Redskin games or watch them on TV; we will not purchase Redskin team merchandise.
